Here is how to apply for MBBS at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune

The Armed Forces Medical College in Pune is a premier institute that offer high quality medical education totally free of cost. The selected candidates could complete the course in a disciplined manner and would be provided free food, accommodation and other facilities too. Besides, there is allowances for uniform/ books/ stationary/ washing. The students should stay in the campus. They are not allowed to get married during the course.

The candidates should have passed plus two in the first chance with 50% marks in each Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a total of 60% marks for the three subjects. Besides, they need to score at least 50% marks in English too. The candidates should have turned 17 years as on 31 December 2022; they should not be over 24 years. Among the 145 seats for Indians, 30 are reserved for women.

Besides, 10 seats are reserved for candidates from scheduled categories. However, there wouldn’t be any relaxation in the eligibility or age criteria for those who are eligible for reservation. Those who wish to pursue medical education here should specifically apply to AFMC while registering in the website www.mcc.nic.in for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – UG 2022 conducted by the National Testing Agency.

From among the candidates who have opted for AFMC, 1740 applicants, with 1380 male and 360 female candidates, would be shortlisted for the screening. They should reach the institute in Pune with original documents as per the scheduled published in the websites www.afmcdg1d.gov.in/ www.mcc.nic.in.

There will be a 30 minute long computer based ToELR test in which 40 multiple choice questions of 2 marks each would be asked. The test will evaluate the English language skills, comprehension and reasoning abilities of the candidates. Half marks would be reduced for each wrong answer. Those who have participated in sports events and NCC and the wards of soldiers would get additional weightage in the ranking. The candidates need to qualify in the mental ability test to be included in the rank list; marks wouldn’t be considered as a criterion in ranking. Besides, the candidates need to undergo a through medical test too.
