Appointment notifications: PSC to mention equivalent qualifications of its previous selections

Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant move, a meeting of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) has decided to include details of equivalent qualifications and higher qualifications recognised by it during previous selections along with the qualifications mentioned in special rules, while issuing notifications regarding appointments.

In case the state government has recognized additional equivalent qualifications after the previous selection that too would be included in the notification. The candidate need not produce equivalency certificates or government orders to prove such qualifications, said the PSC.

Quota for differently-abled candidates

Meanwhile, the state government has issued an order regarding the vacancies which are to be filled under the four-percent quota for differently-abled candidates.

According to the order, differently-abled candidates need to obtain a functionality certificate in a specific format to confirm their suitability for a particular post. The functionality certificate has to be produced along with the disability certificate at the time mentioned by the PSC for getting the respective job.

Short-lists

The PSC also decided to publish the short-lists for four posts and the eligibility lists for another four posts. Interviews will also be conducted for two posts.

The short-lists are for the following posts: Boat driver (SIUC Nadar) in the State Water Transport Department; HSST English teacher in Higher Secondary Education Department; Part-time Junior Language Teacher (Sanskrit) in General Education Department in various districts and Plumber-cum-operator in Health Department in Kannur and Malappuram districts.

Eligibility lists

Reporter Grade 2 (English) in Legislature Secretariat; Lab Assistant (Scheduled Caste/Tribe) in Higher Secondary Education Department in various districts; Clerk (Scheduled Caste/Tribe) in various departments in different districts and Last-grade servants (Scheduled Caste/Tribe) in various departments in Kottayam and Kasaragod districts.

Interviews

Meanwhile, the PSC will also conduct interviews for the following posts: Assistant Professor (Neurosurgery – Ezhava / Thiyya / Billava); Peon / Watchman (designation change of SC/ST employees) in Kerala State Financial Enterprises.
