Palakkad: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Palakkad, secured 95 percent job placement for its 200-strong BTech batches during the campus recruitment drive conducted recently.

Overall, 190 B Tech, M Tech and M Sc students of the IIT received placement offers with Rs 46.15 lakh being the highest annual pay package. The average annual salary offered this year is Rs 15.70 lakh. Last year, the highest offer was Rs 1.20 crore.

As many as 160 companies, including foreign firms, took part in the campus recruitment. Earlier, 39 students were selected by some firms through pre-placement.

IIT, Palakkad, has 40 seats each in five engineering branches for BTech – Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical and Data Science – thus making a student strength of 200.
