Thiruvananthapuram: Offering a big relief for English teachers facing termination following staff fixation, the General Education Department in Kerala has issued an order which says that such teachers could be retained in high schools having at least five divisions.

The order was issued based on a High Court directive which said that staff fixation could be carried out by considering English as a language subject and allotting the required periods.

Under this guideline, staff fixation of English teachers will be conducted similar to other language subjects. The authorities will implement the staff fixation during the current year based on this criterion.
