In a world where fashion trends change faster than the seasons, ReThreads, an initiative by the Department of Management and Professional Studies- Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), in association with the Kochi Metro Rail Limited, offers your once-loved garments a second life, benefiting not only the environment but also those in need.
It's not just a simple clothing donation; it's a movement that prioritizes sustainability and is driven by compassion.

Reducing fashion waste, one donation at a time
The ReThreads initiative, led by the Department of Management and Professional Studies at Rajagiri College, focuses on the repurposing of gently used clothing. It's a sustainability project that aims to reduce the fashion waste that often ends up in landfills. By inspiring individuals to contribute their clean and well-maintained clothing, ReThreads offers a meaningful and impactful way to create positive change.

A second life for your clothes
The concept is straightforward - the ReThreads initiative empowers students to collect gently used clothes from various sources, including the college, nearby communities, and metro stations. These donated garments are then meticulously upcycled through processes such as washing and ironing, transforming them into clothing that's as good as new. They are then distributed to the public at designated metro stations on every third Saturday, where they can find new homes with those in need.
This process not only ensures that the once-loved clothing is revitalized and brought back to life but also allows the community to actively participate in the initiative, making it a true collaboration for a better, more sustainable future.

Small acts, big impact
The ReThreads initiative underscores the power of small acts in promoting sustainability. By giving a new purpose to your gently used clothing, you're not only reducing fashion waste but also spreading warmth and hope to those in need. It's a wonderful example of how a sustainable approach can create a significant impact on both our environment and the lives of people.
As we embark on this remarkable journey of sustainability with ReThreads, we invite you, our community members, to be a part of this transformation. Your contributions, whether through donations or purchasing can make a profound difference.
