New Delhi: With numerous postgraduate seats in medical colleges across the country lying vacant, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a Special Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates who have qualified the NEET PG examination can register themselves at the official website of the MCC (www.mcc.nic.in) from today (November 17) till November 22.

Candidates can fill in their choices too on the official website from November 18 to November 22. The seat allotment process will be held on November 23 and 24. The results of the Stray Vacancy Round will be announced on November 24. Those allotted the seats can report to their allotted colleges from November 25 to November 30. The State-level quota counselling process will be held from November 25 to December 2.

Despite the Centre reducing qualifying marks for postgraduate seats in medical colleges to zero, nearly 1700 seats remain vacant. Even after holding three rounds of counselling and the Stray Vacancy Round for the seats under the all-India quota, there are no takers for 105 seats. Earlier, a Special Stray Vacancy Round was held for the admission to MBBS seats. In this scenario, a decision was made to hold a similar process for admission to PG seats as well, the MCC said.
