NEET (UG) 2024 to be held on May 5; apply on new website by March 9

New Delhi: This year’s NEET (UG) will take place on May 5. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG) is the national-level qualifying exam for admission to MBBS and other undergraduate medical courses. The timing of the test is 2-5.20 pm.

Applications could be submitted online till 5 pm on March 9 and fees paid till 11.50 pm on that day.

The fee is Rs 1700 for the general category, Rs 1600 for OBC and economically weaker sections and Rs 1000 for SC/ST, differently-abled and transgender categories.

It should be noted that NTA (National Testing Agency), which conducts the exam, has arranged a different website this year for NEET (UG). For details, check https://neet.ntaonline.in/

How to apply

Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) - 2024 through online mode only on the official website. Follow the steps given below to Apply Online:

Step 1: Registration Form:

  • Register for the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Application Number.
  • Provide the required details, create a password, choose a security question, and enter an answer.

Step 2: Application Form:

  • Log in with the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password to complete the Application Form.
  • Fill in personal details, choose the Question Paper medium and Examination Cities, provide Educational Qualifications details, and upload images and documents if required.

Postcard size Photograph
Signature
Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impression
Citizenship Certificate (if applicable)
PwBD Certificate (wherever applicable)

Step 3: Fee Payment:

Upon completing Steps 1 and 2, candidates are required to pay the necessary examination fee. The fee can only be submitted online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. Processing charges and applicable GST will be charged to the candidate by the respective Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator, in addition to the examination fee.

Download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page of the Application Form (available after successful fee remittance) for future reference.

A copy of the Confirmation Page, Scanned OMR, and Score Card of NEET (UG) – 2024 will be sent to the registered email address of the Candidates.

Syllabus of the test

The NMC (National Medical Commission) has notified the syllabus of NEET (UG) - 2024. The Question Paper will be based on the given syllabus available on the NMC website. Furthermore, to rationalize the decision to reduce the syllabus by various School Education Boards, the NTA has decided to provide a choice in Section “B” for each of the 4 (four) Subjects.

Mode of examination

  • NEET (UG) – 2024 is a Pen & Paper-based Test.
  • Tampering with the OMR at any stage will lead to the debarring of the candidature for 03 years.

Duration of test

The test duration is three (03) hours and 20 minutes. PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Candidates will be given compensatory time of one hour and five minutes.

Medium of the question papers

NEET (UG) - 2024 is conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
