Spicy and aromatic Goan fish curry

Goan cuisine is known for its incredible flavours and delicious aroma. This special fish curry that has lots of spices in it can be easily prepared in just half an hour. Try out this simple recipe of Goan fish curry.

Ingredients
500 gm fish
1 tsp turmeric
1 garlic
2 cloves
2 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp coriander
4 tbsp grated coconut
1 onion
1 tbsp tamarind pulp
4 dried red chillies
4 to 5 black peppercorns
Oil to fry

Preparation
Marinate the fish with turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder
Keep it aside for at least 15-20 minutes
Dry roast the red chillies, cumin, and black pepper corns for 2 minutes
Into the same pan add onion and sauté until golden brown
Grind red chillies, black pepper corns, cumin, coconut, coriander, garlic, ginger and sautéed onion
Heat 4 teaspoon oil in a pan and sauté this paste for 3 minutes or until the oil separates
Add turmeric, dried red chilli powder, turmeric pulp and salt as per taste
Pour some hot water to make loose gravy
Add the marinated fish pieces after the gravy has boiled well
Cook the fish in the gravy for 7-8 minutes
Tastes best when served hot.
