Kochi: Actor Dharmajan Bolgatty is a self-confessed lover of traditional fish dishes of Kerala. It was this genuine love for fish that inspired him to open 'Dharmoos Fish Hub,' a store that exclusively sells fresh fish and other seafood.

The store soon grew into a major seafood chain in the state. Taking his love for seafood further, Dharmajan has now introduced 'Dharmoos Kitchen' which caters fish dishes at functions and events.

The fish store which was first opened in Kochi later got extended to 19 different locations as Dharmajan gave franchise ownership to other movie actors. However, Dharmoos Kitchen has been opened by the actor and his 10 friends at his hometown in Mulavukad. They hope to serve the authentic taste of Mulavukad to fish lovers in Kerala. Interestingly, Dharmoos Kitchen debuted at the wedding reception of actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan in Kochi.

The newly opened Dharmoos Kitchen served dishes like 'Dharmajan's olakadayil meen curry,' fried fish, prawns with coconut shards, and tapioca for more than 2000 guests. Many celebrities, including screen icons Mammootty and Mohanlal, who attended the reception tasted Dharmajan's special preparations.

Dharmoos Kitchen charges up to Rs 250-Rs 1000 per plate. Dharmajan says that they can serve dishes for up to 5000 guests. They will supply food for smaller private functions as well.

However, for such functions, the order should be for more than 10 people. The main outlet of Dharmoos Kitchen functions only in Kochi. He also promises 'live' preparations at venues. The group plans to open a facility at Pepper Island near Mulavukad where fish would be caught and cooked live for guests.
