Lemon bars are one of the most common dessert bars across the world- partly because they are easy to make and partly because you can easily gather all the ingredients required. The buttery crust and soft topping will bring you back the sweet memories of this traditional sweet that has been a favorite of bakehouses of the past.
Ingredients
For the crust
2 cups of maida
3/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
For the topping
4 eggs beaten
1 1/2 cups of sugar
4 tbsp maida
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup of lime juice
Preparation
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius
Mix all the ingredients for the crust
Press them in a buttered baking dish
Bake this for 15 minutes in the preheated oven
Mix the ingredients for the topping
Spread it on top of the baked crust
Bake it again in the preheated oven for 25 minutes
Sprinkle with powdered sugar
Allow it to cool down and then unmold it from the dish
Cut into small bars and serve
