Ripe jackfruit makes the right ingredient for the perfect curry this season. The creamy curry can be relished with rice and has a distinctive taste and aroma. Here is the recipe for chakkapzaham curry aka ripe jackfruit curry.
1 cup sliced ripe jackfruit
4 slit green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 tsp cumin
2 cloves garlic
1 cup water
1 tsp lime juice
2 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp sliced shallots
1 dried red chilli cut into small pieces
1 hand full of curry leaves
Cook jackfruit pieces, turmeric powder, green chillies and salt in water.
Grind the grated coconut, cumin and garlic and mix it in a cup of water.
Add it to the jackfruit mixture and cook it in low flame.
To it add lime juice and salt and keep aside.
Season it with dried chilli, shallots and curry leaves, fried in coconut oil.
