Compote, a traditional European sweet dish, is prepared by cooking fruit pieces in sugar syrup and spices. It is usually had with a piece of toast. Try out this simple recipe of delicious mixed fruit compote with perfect French toast.

For the compote:
200 ml grape juice
500 gm seedless grape (finely chopped)
300 gm apple (finely chopped)
200 gm pineapple (finely chopped)
300 gm sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
Pinch of cinnamon powder
For the toast:
2 slices sandwich bread
1 tbsp compote
1 egg
50 ml milk
2 tsp sugar
Pinch of cinnamon powder
1 tsp butter

To prepare the compote, boil the grape juice and add grapes, apple and pineapple into it
Add sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon powder and cook until it thicken up
Take the compote off the flame and allow it to cool down
Smear some compote on a slice of bread and place the other slice on top of it
Cut off the edges of the bread slices and dip in a beaten mixture of egg, milk, sugar, and cinnamon
Heat butter on a pan and grill the bread slices until both the sides are nice and toasty.
