Easy pumpkin halwa

Pumpkin is a delicious vegetable which is a good source of vitamin and iron. However, not many know that tasty desserts too could be made using this slightly sweet vegetable. Check out this easy recipe of pumpkin halwa.

Ingredients
½ kg pumpkin
½ cup sugar
3 tbsp ghee
1 tbsp almonds
1 tbsp cashews
3 tbsp custard powder
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp cardamom powder

Preparation
Cut the pumpkin into small pieces, cook it and mash into fine paste
Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashews and almonds. Keep them aside
Into the same pan add the pumpkin paste and sauté well
Mix in the sugar
Mix the custard powder in some water and add it into the pumpkin mixture
Keep stirring until the halwa begins to thicken up
Pour some more ghee and keep mixing until the halwa separates from the pan
Now add the fired cashews and almonds and the cardamom powder as well
Mix well and turn off the flame
Grease the dish in which the halwa is set, with some ghee
Transfer the halwa mix into this greased dish and spread evenly on all sides
Keep it aside for at least 2 hours for the halwa to set
Cut into desired shapes and enjoy.
