The sweet and delicious Mysore pak is one of the most popular South Indian desserts which has its origins in Mysore, Karnataka. It is believed that this special dessert was born in the royal kitchen of the Mysore palace.
Though incredibly popular, not many know that the Mysore pak can be easily made using just three ingredients. Here is how you could make this royal sweet at home.
300 gm gram flour
300 gm sugar
50 gm ghee
Dry roast the gram flour in a thick-bottomed vessel
Meanwhile, in another pan make sugar syrup by boiling the sugar in 200 ml water
When the sugar syrup becomes sticky enough, add the roasted gram flour
Into it, add ghee and mix until the mixture separates from the sides of the vessel
Now transfer this into another dish greased with ghee
The Mysore pak becomes softer as more ghee is added
After the Mysore pak has cooled down, cut into desired shapes.
