Unniyappam is a quintessential Kerala snack loved by millions. Its soft texture and sweet taste make it a favourite of children. Here is an easy recipe of paneer unniyappam that is delicious and nutritious as well.
Ingredients
1 cup raw rice
1 cup jaggery powder
½ cup grated coconut
2 small bananas
1 tsp cardamom powder
3 tsp ghee
100 gms paneer
Oil to fry
Preparation
Wash the raw rice and soak for at least 2 hours
Grind the soaked raw rice in a mixer jar
Add jaggery, grated coconut and bananas gradually
Blend everything into unniyappam batter
Roast the paneer in ghee
Add the roasted paneer along with some ghee and cardamom powder into the batter
Mix well
Grease the holes in the unniyappam chatty (vessel) with some oil
Pour spoons full of batter into each hole
Fry the unniyappams until they turn brown by flipping it.
