Fruit salad with no custard powder

Fruit salad is an ideal dessert that could be enjoyed during the blazing summer. You could even make it healthier by adding rice flour and milk instead of instant custard powder. Here is how you could prepare delicious fruit salad without custard powder.

Ingredients
1 apple (cut into small pieces)
1 banana (cut into small pieces)
½ cup black grapes
½ cup pomegranate seeds
2 tsp + 8 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp rice flour
1 liter + ¼ cup milk
2 tsp condensed milk (if required)
2 pinches turmeric powder
¼ tsp vanilla essence
Cherries as required

Preparation
Into a bowl add the apple, banana, black grapes and pomegranate seeds
Add two teaspoons sugar and mix well
Keep this fruit bowl aside for at least 15 minutes
In a bowl mix the rice flour and ¼ cup milk
Meanwhile, boil a litre of milk in another pan
Stir the milk at intervals so that the layer of fat doesn€™t form on the surface
When the milk begins to boil, add 2 tsp condensed milk (optional) or you could add sugar for sweetness
Stir the sweetened milk for three more minutes
Add the rice flour mixture slowly and stir until the milk thickens up
Put the flame on medium while boiling the milk
The consistency of the milk shouldn€™t be too thick or too loose
Add two pinches turmeric powder for colour
Allow this milk mixture to cool down completely
After it has cooled, pour into a mixer jar with ¼ tsp vanilla essence as well
Blend at least for two minutes to achieve the right consistency
Pour this into the fruit bowl and mix
Garnish with some cherries as well
Pop the fruit salad in the fridge.

Notes
You could add any fruits of your choice. The pomegranate seeds may turn bitter if the fruit salad is kept in the fridge for long. So you could add them just before serving the fruit salad.
