Iftar special murg angara

From sweet to something savoury and more satisfying, Tata Sky Cooking Expert, Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi share a chicken recipe for your evening meal after a day of fasting.

Ingredients
2 onions chopped (medium)
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 cup Tomato puree
1 tbsp red chilly paste
2 tbsp coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ kg chicken with bone
½ cup yogurt
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking
½ tbsp fresh cream
1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped
Ginger, juliennes for garnishing
A fresh coriander sprig for garnishing

Preparation
Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion and sauté till soft and brown.
Add ginger, garlic paste and sauté for 2 min.
Add tomato puree to the pan, stir well and cook for 4-5 minutes
Add red chilli paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala, red chilly powder, and salt.
Mix well and cook for 4-5 min add chicken to the gravy and stir well, cover and cook for 12-15 minutes.
Stir in between.
Add yogurt and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-6 min.
Add ginger juliennes, coriander chopped, cream and mix well.
Cover and cook for 2-3 min.
Remove from heat and serve hot.
