Pappadam thoran

Pappadam thoran is crunchy, tasty, and is the perfect side dish with rice. Here is how you can easily prepare pappadam thoran at home.

10 pappadam
1 cup onions/shallots (chopped)
2 green chillies
1 cup grated coconut
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp chilli powder
Salt as required
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
2 dried chillies
Curry leaves

Cut the papads into small pieces 
Fry them in hot oil
Meanwhile, heat coconut oil in a thick bottomed vessel or pan
Splutter mustard seeds and urad dal
Add the curry leaves and dried chillies
Sauté well
Now sauté finely chopped onions/shallots and green chillies
Add turmeric powder and chilli powder
Sauté until the raw smell of the powders are gone
Add the grated coconut and salt as required
Mix well
Finally add the fried papadam pieces
Give everything a good mix.
