Puliyinchi chicken

Chicken is one of the most versatile ingredients and is an amazing source of protein. Chicken lovers are always discovering new and unique recipes. Puliyinchi chicken explodes a burst of flavours in your mouth as it has the perfect balance of sweetness, sourness and spiciness. Check out this interesting recipe of puliyinchi chicken.

2 tbsp oil
½ tsp fenugreek
½ tsp mustard seeds
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 tsp crushed ginger
3 green chillies
½ cup tamarind water
1 piece jaggery
½ tsp salt
½ kg chicken
1 tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp garam masala
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
½ lemon
1 tsp dry chilli flakes

Heat oil in a pan 
Sauté fenugreek, mustard seeds, curry leaves, crushed ginger and green chillies
Into it add the tamarind water
Add the jaggery and salt as well
Mix well and cook on low flame 
This is the puliyinchi. Now, keep it aside to be used later
Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste and lemon juice
Fry the marinated chicken pieces in hot oil
Meanwhile, heat some oil in another pan
Into the hot oil add curry leaves, dry chilli powder and the previously prepared puliyinchi
Mix well
Now add the fried chicken pieces
Mix well until all the chicken pieces are coated in the puliyinchi
Enjoy puliyinchi chicken with chapathi or porotta.
