For marination
½ kg chicken
1 tbsp ginger garlic 
2 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder 
½ tsp cumin powder 
2 tbsp yoghurt 
¼ tsp turmeric powder 
For sautéing 
2 onions 
2 tomatoes (to make puree)
1 tbsp ginger garlic 
1 tsp garam masala 
1 stalk coriander leaves 
3-4 tbsp butter 
3 tbsp vegetable oil 
3 tbsp cooking cream
1 tbsp fenugreek
Salt as required 

Mix all the ingredients for marination and keep it aside for half an hour or more
Heat a pan and add vegetable oil and one tsp of butter
Shallow fry the marinated chicken in medium heat for 10-15 minutes
Cook both sides of the chicken until oil appears on top. Keep it aside
Heat another pan and add oil. Add ¼ tsp of butter for flavour
Add onions and ginger-garlic paste and sauté it well
Optionally add 1 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder and ¼ of cumin powder as well
Add ¼ tsp garam masala and sauté it well 
Add tomato puree and sauté that too
Now add shallow fried chicken to the mix and add warm water as required
Close the top and cook it for 5 minutes
Add chopped coriander leaves and cooking cream and stir well and finally add fenugreek and one tsp of butter
Delicious chicken tikka masala is now ready to be served.
