Palak paneer

Palak paneer

Rich and creamy palak paneer could be enjoyed with roti, porotta, nan, ghee rice or plain basmati rice. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients
Palm full of palak or green spinach (around 200 gms)
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 cinnamon stick
½ tsp cumin
1 big onion (finely chopped)
2 - 3 green chillies
½ tsp ginger – garlic paste
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp coriander powder
½ tsp garam masala
250 gms paneer
3 -4 tbsp fresh cream
Salt as required

Preparation
Boil some water and add the washed spinach
Blanch for 2 minutes
Take out the spinach and plunge them into an ice bath to stop cooking
Now, grind the spinach into fine paste
Heat butter and oil in a pan
Into it add the cinnamon stick and cumin
Add the onion, green chillies and ginger – garlic paste
Add salt as required
Sauté until the onion turns brown in colour
Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, and coriander powder and garam masala
Sauté for a minute or until the raw smell of the powders is gone
Into it add the spinach paste
Mix well
Now add the paneer cubes and fresh cream
Give everything a good mix
Delicious palak paneer is ready.
