Easy white-chocolate

It may or may not surprise you to find out that white chocolate isn’t chocolate at all. Legally, all ‘chocolate’ must contain cocoa solids – and white chocolate does not. White chocolate is largely made up of cocoa butter, lecithin, powdered milk, sugar, and sometimes vanilla. Some brands and various vegan chocolates often swap out cocoa butter altogether with hydrogenated oils (hence the waxiness) and fats, including palm oil as well as tons of sugar.

Making this homemade white chocolate is fairly easy. Best of all, it is just a few simple steps and three key white chocolate ingredients. For vegan white chocolate, you can use coconut milk powder or soymilk powder. Don’t use liquid ‘milk’ for this recipe or the chocolate will likely seize and/or won’t chill solid.

Milk powder:1½ cup
Sugar: 1 cup
Butter: 100 gms
Water: ½ cup
Vanilla (optional)

In a pan add sugar and water, bring to a boil
Add butter
When the butter melts, add the milk powder
Blend well and transfer it to a dish brushed with ghee
After 10 minutes, mark the chocolate shape with a knife. Preferably square shape
Once it cools down, cut it. Yummy chocolate is ready to serve.
Please store it in a fridge.
