Pearl millet dosa for weight loss

Loaded with nutrients and vitamins, pearl millet dosa is an ideal dish to be included in the regular menu of a diabetic or cholesterol patient. Moreover, it is excellent for those who are trying to shed a few kilos too. Check out the pretty simple recipe of pearl millet dosa.

Ingredients
½ cup pearl millet
½ cup moong dal
1/3 cup urad dal
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
Salt as required
Water as required
Ghee/oil
For the chutney
½ cup grated coconut
4 dried chillies
6 garlic cloves
½ onion
1 small piece of tamarind

Preparation
Wash the pearl millet, moong dal, urad dal and fenugreek seeds
Soak them for at least 6 hours
Wash them again before grinding by adding some water
Add salt and mix well using your palm
Keep the batter aside for it to rise
Pour a ladle full of batter on a pan and spread
Sprinkle some oil or ghee to make the dosa crispier
To make the chutney, heat oil in a pan
Sauté the garlic
Add onions, dried chillies and tamarind when the garlic is dark brown in colour
Sauté until the onions are soft
Allow this mixture to cool down
Grind it by adding salt and water as required
Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds and urad dal
Add this tempering into the chutney
Mix well
Note: Soak the pearl millet for at least 6 hours as it causes digestive problems in some people.
