Jackfruit, the queen of tropical fruits, is a good source of pottassium, phytochemicals and vitamin C. Jackfruit chips probably have more fans than the other dishes made of the fruit including ada, patties, steamed and 'varattiyathu (jam)' versions of it.

Just like other chips, this too is better when crispier, but it's not always easy to ensure that your jackfruit chips turn out to be crunchy enough. Here we bring you a recipe that helps you make yummy crispy chips at home.

Ingredients
1 raw jackfruit
2 tsp salt
2 – 3 tsp turmeric powder
500 ml coconut oil

Preparation
Separate the jackfruit bulbs and cut then into thin strips
Marinate them with salt and turmeric powder
Keep aside for two hours to draw out the water
Jackfruit becomes crispy when there is no moisture in them
To fry, heat coconut oil in a thick bottomed pan
Fry the jackfruit pieces
Store these in air tight containers.
