Ailments linked to kidney stones are common during summer when the body requires more water than one usually consumes. Though it can be treated if detected on time, it may sometimes lead to severe complications if timely intervention is neglected. However, there are also occasions when surgery is imperative.

In Ayurveda, there are medicines which can help do away with the pain-inducing crystals but are applicable mostly when the symptoms are less severe and the condition is at an early stage. It also takes some time to gush out the hard and solidified deposits of minerals and salts lodged in the kidney or in any part of the urinary tract. Dr Soorya Sarath, an Ayurvedic practitioner, however, guarantees a speedy and complete cure from kidney stone through her herbal medicines.

"The kidney stone can be removed without surgery, and that too within a short span of time by the treatment through our traditional medicine," says Dr Surya who is based in Kottayam.

Empowered by the legacy of over 80 years of Ayurveda tradition of Edasseril family in Vachoochira, of which Dr. Surya is a member, the doctor is confident about the unbelievably quick solution to kidney stone ailments.

However, the healthcare expert insists on ensuring strict adherence to the instructions while undergoing the medication. "Only when correct dosages are consumed on time and other rules like abstaining from certain food items can the treatment provide the best result." Drinking a lot of water is also a prerequisite for the earliest cure from the condition, she says.

Among people who have benefited from Dr Surya's treatment, guest labourers who are mostly engaged in construction work form the vast majority. Besides, she prescribes effective treatments that can prevent the condition.

"Drinking lots of water is the best way to ward off kidney stones," she says, "even though excess body weight, certain supplements and medications, diet, habitual delaying in passing urine are among many causes of kidney stone." Dr. Surya offers her consultations at Neelamperoor, Vachoochira and Kottayam. She can be contacted at 9447703753.
