2,190 new COVID cases in Kerala after 32K tests on Friday

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 2,190 new COVID cases and 3,878 recoveries on Friday.

With this, the number of active COVID cases in the state fell to 17,105.

So far, 64,24,920 have been cured of the disease.

Of the new cases, 2,041 contracted the virus through contact while nine came from outside the state and 20 are healthcare workers.

A total of 32,497 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam districts reported the most cases - 405, 366 and 209 respectively.

Three COVID deaths too were confirmed on Friday.

With this, the COVID death toll in the state rose to 66,012.

There are currently 80,152 people under observation across the state.

Of them, 78,730 are under home or institutional quarantine while 1,422 are in hospitals.
