809 new COVID cases in Kerala, active cases now 7,980

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 809 new COVID cases and 1,597 recoveries on Monday.

With this, the number of active COVID cases in the state fell to 7,980.

So far, 64,46,221 have been cured of the disease.

Of the new cases, 769 contracted the virus through contact. Eight are healthcare workers.

A total of 18,467 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts reported the most cases - 141, 111 and 84 respectively.

No COVID deaths were confirmed on Monday. The COVID death toll in the state is 66,886.

There are currently 24,808 people under observation across the state.

Of them, 23,960 are under home or institutional quarantine while 848 are in hospitals.
