496 new COVID cases in Kerala; active cases now 4,051

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 496 new COVID cases and 693 recoveries on Saturday.
With this, the number of active COVID cases in the state fell to 4,051.
So far, 64,57,993 have been cured of the disease.
Of the new cases, 462 contracted the virus through contact while three came from outside the state and five are healthcare workers.
A total of 16,883 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam districts reported the most cases - 138, 70 and 56 respectively.
No COVID deaths were confirmed on Saturday. The COVID death toll in the state is 67,772.
There are currently 14,838 people under observation across the state.
Of them, 14,412 are under home or institutional quarantine while 426 are in hospitals.
