A 70-year-old woman on Saturday succumbed to severe injuries after being run over by a private bus in Wadakkanchery, Thrissur. The deceased, Nabeesa, was a native of Onnamkallu, Wadakkanchery.

The accident happened on Friday morning at Onnamkallu when Nabeesa, en route to Kunnamkulam, mistakenly boarded the incorrect bus.

Realising the error, she attempted to get out of the vehicle quickly but fell onto the road, and the bus ran over her left leg. Local residents rushed her to Thrissur Medical College Hospital, where she passed away early on Saturday morning while receiving treatment. The Wadakkanchery police launched a probe and took the vehicle involved into custody.
