Satwik-Chirag enter quarters, Sindhu exits Indonesia Open

Two-time Olympic medallist P V Sindhu lost in the second round of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 badminton tournament in Jakarta on Thursday.
Sindhu lost to World No. 8 Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand after taking a 15-11 lead in the decider. Sindhu lost the 78-minute battle, 22-20, 10-21, 18-21.
"I think I should have converted it to win...but overall, I'm happy with my performance. A lot to learn from this match and this tournament as well and prepare for the next one," Sindhu said.
Meanwhile, ace doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty entered the quarterfinals with a thrilling win over the Danish pair Rasmus Kjaer and Frederik Sogaard. The Indian duo, who won the Indonesia Open in 2023, prevailed 16-21, 21-18, 22-20.
Kerala player Treesa Jolly and her doubles partner Gayatri Gopichand exited in the second round, losing 13-21, 22-24 to Japan's Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto.
