Egypt has unveiled new visitor facilities on the plateau outside Cairo where the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Sphinx are situated.
Archaeologists were still working to determine the origins of the coffins, el-Arif said, adding that more details and secrets would likely be announced next month.
The pyramid, a UNESCO world heritage site, was constructed 4,700 years ago during the era of Pharaoh Djoser, one of Ancient Egypt's Third Dynasty kings.
The complex has not received practically any visitors over the past few days as the authorities decided to suspend flights.
The hot weather makes early mornings the best time to see the pyramids.
