The decision follows the shocking incident at the Taluk Hospital, Thamarassery in Kozhikode, where Dr Vipin P T was grievously injured after being attacked by a man identified as Sanup, the father of nine-year-old Ananya, who had died of amoebic meningoencephalitis.
The strike, called by the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA), began on October 9 following an alleged murder attempt on Dr P T Vipin by the father of a deceased patient.
During the hearing, Dr Rajeev Joshi, appearing for the MedicoLegal Society of India, urged the court to frame clear guidelines preventing the entry of sharp objects or dangerous weapons inside hospitals.
His condition is currently stable.
The association has demanded that the government immediately declare hospitals as special security zones.
The incident revolves around Sunup, who assaulted Dr Vipin due to perceived negligence in his daughter's death
The doctor didn't have much time to react.
Kozhikode police have arrested Sanoop, who allegedly attacked the doctor.
The trial in Dr Vandana’s murder case is currently underway.
