Sangeetha reportedly committed suicide on June 1. Her relatives claimed she took the extreme step as she was pestered for dowry and was humiliated with casteist slurs at her husband's home.
The body was brought to Kerala on Friday morning and a re-postmortem was conducted at the Manjeri Medical College Hospital.
Additional District and Sessions Judge-1 Sujith K N convicted the husband for the offence of dowry related harassment under the IPC and various provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
