Onmanorama Lite App
After a shocking incident where a young woman was pushed out of a moving train by a drunk passenger, Onmanorama set out to find how safe women really are on trains. Our team travelled from Kottayam to Palakkad, speaking to women passengers and RPF officers along the way. Through the journey, we saw firsthand what it’s like for women to travel by train. Are the RPF and railway helplines truly effective? And how secure are women, especially in general compartments?
The rail line has been made possible through the 52 km Bairabi-Sairang railway line, a project that took 11 years to complete.
Onmanorama Producer Athira Madhav takes you along on her first Kerala Vande Bharat train journey to discover the amenities and facilities inside.
