Hello
Sanjay Raut said the Sena did not demand tax exemption even on a biopic on its founder, Bal Thackeray.
The response comes a day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had claimed that Savarkar had written mercy petitions.
The Shiv Sena said the party would fight the matter legally and suggested that the summon was linked to the arrest of Union minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane in Ratnagiri, the district of which Parab is the guardian minister.
He was addressing a press conference on the eve of the monsoon session of the Maharashtra legislature.
Immediately after joining the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, Matondkar took a swipe at actress Kangana Ranaut, saying 'unnecessary importance' has been given to the latter.
The bench was hearing Ranaut's petition challenging the demolition carried out by BMC at her Pali Hill bungalow in suburban Bandra on September 9.
The Sena, the ruling party in Maharashtra, however, distanced itself from the demand.
The case relates to the razing of the disputed structure in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, which triggered riots for several months leaving nearly 2,000 people dead across the country.
The meeting took place days after the Sena-ruled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished alleged illegal alterations at Kangana's bungalow at Pali Hill.
Ranaut's recent remark comparing Mumbai to Pakistan- occupied-Kashmir (PoK) has drawn ire of the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. The actor said that she feared Mumbai Police more than the movie mafia.
