The DRI officials recovered 218 heroin packets of one kilogram each during the search operation carried out on the seized boats which were brought to the Coast Guard headquarters in Kochi.
Abdusamad and his wife Safna were arrested with over 7 kg of gold at the Karipur Airport.
The duo, who tried to smuggle 2.23 kg of gold through Cochin International Airport, were absconding.
