Gabriele Gravina, the head of the Italian football federation (FIGC) and legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who was the national team’s head of delegation, have resigned from their positions.
The veteran, who played for 28 years in the top-flight, is regarded as one of the all-time greats of goalkeeping.
The federation on Tuesday said Buffon uttered the words which they did not specify while shouting at teammate Manolo Portanova in the 80th minute of Juve's 4-0 win at Parma last month.
Buffon, who made his professional debut for Parma as a 17-year-old in 1995, made his name at Juve, winning nine Serie A and four Coppa Italia titles.
