KSRTC passengers will no longer have to suffer in silence if hunger grips them during their journey. The Corporation has launched 10 food outlets partnering with the start-up named 'Rail Roll,' to serve hygienic, quality dishes to passengers.

All that a passenger needs to do is order the food, which will be served in paper boxes. After using the roll, passengers can fold it into a specific format and dispose of it in the bus's waste bin. Instructions on how to fold it correctly will soon be displayed on buses. At various points, Rail Roll partners will remove the waste. Minister of transport KB Ganesh Kumar said the service primarily focuses on youngsters and the kind of foods that they prefer.

The service is also integrated with KSRTC's ticket booking system. Those who want to order can also log in to the Rail Rolls website and provide details. The options include a range of rolls, from 'Classic Egg Wrap' priced at ₹49 and 'Premium Chicken Zinger Wrap and soft drink' at ₹199. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are offered. Customers can also bulk order items. The team is also planning to deliver food in trains, soon. The 24/7 service's hotline number is +91 70123 36551.

A few days ago, the Corporation also partnered with ChicKing for food delivery on its buses. An initiative to deliver bottled water was also launched a few weeks ago.
