CSIR-UGC NET: Applications invited till Aug 10

The CSIR-UGC NET Exam (June 2022) is conducted for determining the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and

Lectureship/Assistant Professor in the science and technology field in order to ensure minimum standards for entrance in the teaching profession and research. The exam conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research & University Grand Commission is organised by the National Testing Agency.

There will be exams in five sections of Science including, Chemical/earth, atmospheric ocean & planetary/ life/mathematical/physical. Engineering science won't be there.

Eligibility

MSc/4-year BS, Integrated BS-MS, Btech, BFAM, MBBS, or those who have acquired at least 55% in the equivalent examination and those who are studying in the eligibility course can apply. Those who belong to the backward/transgender/disability category need to get only 50% marks.

Those who are trying for JRF shouldn’t have crossed the age of 28 in July 2021.

But those belonging to the scheduled/transgender/disability category and women can apply till the age of 33. The backward community can apply till the age of 31. There is no age limit for the post of teachers. You can apply individually for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) or the teacher position. Certain candidates can only apply for JRF.

Application

You can register on this website called https://csirnet.nta.nic.in on the 10th evening at 5 pm. Till 11.50 pm you can remit an application fee of Rs 1000.  The backward community can pay Rs 500 and the schedule/transgender community can pay Rs 250. It is free for those belonging to the differently abled category. They only need to apply.

How the test is conducted

The test will be conducted on the computer where there will be a 3-hour long multiple-choice objective examination categorized into A, B, and C sections. A will be common for all sections. B will have questions related to the topic. And C will have analytical questions.
