The NTA has released final UGC-NET June 2026 answer keys for 84 subjects, with results imminent, excluding English, Commerce, and Sociology due to re-exams.
The NTA is undergoing a significant overhaul, including a four-tier question paper check, removal of 600 experts, induction of new specialists, and CISF security, following recent examination controversies.
Following examination errors, the NTA removed over 50 staff and is overhauling its system. New professionals and stricter protocols are being implemented, with re-examinations scheduled for three subjects.
NTA is retesting English, Commerce, and Sociology UGC-NET papers on September 9 and 10 due to multiple factual, typographical, and grammatical errors found in the original papers.
UGC NET Sociology candidates reported numerous spelling errors, including 'Ritzer' as 'Putzer' and 'social' as 'oval', leading to comprehension difficulties and questioning exam integrity.
'Entertaining the plea at the present stage would only add to uncertainty and add to utter chaos,' the CJI said.
The NTA decided to conduct the re-test in computer-based mode after the frequent controversies over pen-and-paper exams.
The bench will hear a total of 38 petitions related to the exam.
