'Sanchari by Pillai' is a joint venture between entrepreneur Sameer Hamza's Youniverse Diners and renowned chef Suresh Pillai's RCP Hospitality, situated at the MLal Cineplexx owned by Mohanlal on the highway in Haripad, Kerala.
Open interviews for various positions at the restaurant will be conducted starting at 10 am on Sunday, March 17, at the M Lal theatre complex.
Chef Pillai previously reached out to the public on Instagram, seeking suggestions for the restaurant's name. With over 40,000 responses received, 'Sanchari' emerged as the winning idea, proposed by Preetha and Kiran, two IT professionals from Bengaluru. Interestingly, 'Sanchari' is also the title of a Mohanlal movie.
Commenting on the restaurant's name, Mohanlal remarked, "Sanchari (traveller) is the title of one of my movies. Besides, the restaurant is an ideal spot for travellers along the National Highway to dine in."
Chef Pillai revealed that 'Sanchari by Pillai' will feature a diverse menu, offering traditional Kerala cuisine as well as Arabic, North Indian, and Chinese dishes. He added that it has been the aspiration of several friends to open a high-quality restaurant with moderate pricing and ample parking space along the National Highway.
Reflecting on the realization of this dream, Chef Pillai expressed, "Our lives are enriched when we contribute to others' happiness through our endeavours."
