Mark Zuckerberg celebrates Jewish New Year with delicious Teiglach

Tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg celebrated the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah by enjoying a special delicacy prepared by his wife Priscilla.

Zuckerberg had shared the pictures of Teiglach which is a sweet dish to convey his New Year wishes on social media.

Teiglach is prepared by soaking tiny pastry balls in special honey syrup. The dish is then garnished with nuts and cherries too.

The Jewish New Year is a special occasion for the people of Israel and Jews around the globe. Fruits like pomegranates and apples and honey are placed on the dining table where a lighted Menorah is placed (Jewish lamp).

The Jews begin the New Year dinner by enjoying these juicy fruits by dipping them in honey. The celebrations that begin at sunset end at the sunset on the next day.

Here is how to prepare delicious Teiglach at home.

Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
3 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
½ tsp salt and baking powder

Preparation
Mix all the ingredients well
Sprinkle some flour on a flat surface
Mix the dough into a ball
Roll this dough into a sheet and cut them into square pieces
Fold the four corners of each piece towards the center
Roll them again into balls
Fry these balls in olive oil for 3 minutes
Meanwhile, add honey, sugar, ginger paste and lemon juice in a pan
Simmer on low flame for 5 minutes
When the mixture thickens up, add the fried dough balls
Mix well
Cool for 6 more minutes
Garnish with chopped nuts and cherries.
