Chicken shish taouk aka yummy Lebanese chicken skewers

The culinary possibilities with chicken are infinite. Shish taouk or Lebanese chicken skewers are a popular West Asian kebab. Extremely popular in Labanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Israel, the tasty bite is readied by cutting chicken breast into small pieces and marinating them. They are then either grilled or fried. The tasty grilled item may sound simple. But its exotic oriental taste lies in its marination. Shish tawook is best served with French fries, sandwiches, salads and rice. Here’s to a try.

Ingredients
3 chicken breasts
1 cup lime extract
2 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp dry thyme
1 tbsp oregano
1 cup curd
2 tbsp orange rind
1 white onion
1 tbsp salt
Pepper
Olive oil

Preparation
Add the following to chicken breast pieces: lime extract, crushed garlic, pepper powder, salt, olive oil, dry thyme, oregano, curd and orange rind
Mix chicken with all the ingredients
Add the white onions (chopped into square pieces) and refrigerate the entire mix for five hours
Alternate chicken pieces and onion and skewer the chicken
Grill on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or alternatively, fry them
Chicken shish tawook is ready to be relished
