Celebrate with spicy beef kondattam

Beef, over the centuries, has lent itself to countless mix-match combinations. It’s also a stand-alone slice of meat rich in iron and protein. Here’s a special something with the meat – beef kondattam. With kondattam chillies and dry red chillies to spice it up, the dish is worth a try.

Ingredients
500 gm beef
15 fried kondattam chillies
1 egg
1 tbsp rice flour
1 tbsp refined flour
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp fennel powder
1 tsp dried red chillies crushed
10 shallots
2 green chillies
1 lime
Curry leaves
Salt
Oil

Preparation
Rub ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt into the finely chopped beef
Add a bit of water and pressure-cook the beef for up to three whistles
Add refined flour, rice flour, cumin powder, garam masala powder, fennel powder, salt, crushed dry red chillies, egg and fried and crushed kondattam
Mix thoroughly and fry the meat
Sauté finely chopped shallots, split green chillies and curry leaves
Mix in the fried beef along with fried kondattam
Squeeze a bit of lemon extract atop the meat and serve hot
