Refreshing and healthy ragi drink

Millet or ragi, an extremely nutritious grain which has great refreshing properties, is loved by both kids and adults equally. Compared to other grains, millet has more protein and minerals in it. It is known as 'panjapullu' or 'muthari' in different regions around Kerala.

As the fat content is significantly low in millet, it is an excellent grain that can be included in the diet of those who are trying to lose weight. Try out this easy recipe of healthy ragi drink which cools down the body during harsh summers.

Ingredients
½ cup washed ragi
1 cup milk
2 tbsp condensed milk
¼ cup sugar
1 cup water
1 apple
1 banana
¼ cup almonds and cashews

Preparation
Dry roast the millet in a heated pan
When the grains begin to change colour, take it off the heat and allow it to cool down
Grind the roasted millet into fine powder without adding water
Add half cup water into it and blend well
Into it, add sugar and another half cup of water 
Blend well
Pass it through the strainer a few times to remove the hull
Add milk and pass it through the strainer once more
Add condensed milk for flavour
Serve the drink in glasses and garnish with chopped apples, banana, almonds, and cashews.
