Malabar special mutton curry

This extremely delicious mutton dish, cooked in thick coconut paste, is a must in the Malabar region to celebrate Vishu and Easter. It is the perfect combination for rice, appam, roti, and chapathi as well. Try this amazing recipe of delicious Malabar mutton curry.

Ingredients
500 gm mutton
2 large onions
Small piece of ginger 
5 green chilies (sliced)
6 cloves garlic
Half coconut
1 tsp cumin
Curry leaves as required
1 ½ tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp pepper powder
Coconut oil as required
Salt as required

Preparation
Heat some coconut oil in a pan and roast the grated coconut until dark brown
Add the curry leaves and cumin into it and mix well
Grind these into a fine paste
Cook the cleaned mutton pieces by adding turmeric powder and salt
Heat coconut oil in another pan and sauté onions
Add the ginger, garlic and green chilies
Sauté well
Into it add the cooked mutton and mix everything well together
Dry roast the chili powder and coriander powder
Add these powders into the mutton mixture and mix well
Pour water as required and allow it to boil
Add black pepper powder to taste
When the gravy boils well, add the coconut paste
When the curry thickens up, add the curry leaves before taking it off the heat.
