Ingredients
½ kg jack fruit bulbs (not too ripe, peeled and cut into square pieces)
1 cup onion (sliced)
6 green chillies (sliced)
5 curry leaves
4 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp garam masala
2 tsp corn flour
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
Juice of 1 lemon
1 egg (optional)
Salt as required
Coconut oil as required
Preparation
Peel the outer skin and cut the jackfruit bulbs, including the rind and seeds, into square pieces.
Prepare the marinade by mixing Kashmiri chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, corn flour, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, egg and salt as required in a bowl.
Into it add the jackfruit pieces, sliced onions and green chillies.
Mix well and keep aside for at least 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated jackfruit pieces.
Fry the jackfruit pieces until they are crispy and brown.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
