Fish ball and potato curry

Fish and potato is a delicious combination which is often highlighted in many foreign cuisines. This delicious dish has the goodness of mackerels which is a nutritious oily fish and potato which contain lots of potassium.

Try this easy recipe of fish balls and potato curry if you are bored with all the regular fish curries. This dish tastes amazing with rice, chapathi, and roti as well.

Ingredients
3 mackerels
Salt as required
A pinch of turmeric powder
2 tbsp oil/coconut oil
1 cup onion (thinly sliced)
5 green chillies (sliced)
1 tsp ginger (thinly sliced)
1 bunch curry leaves
1 ½ tsp chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt as required
2 potatoes (cubed)
1 cup first extract of coconut milk
1 ½ cups second extract of coconut milk
1 tsp vinegar

Preparation
Clean the mackerels and de-bone them
Finely chop the flesh and add salt and turmeric powder
Mix well and make small fish balls
Heat oil/coconut oil in a pan and sauté the onions, green chillies, ginger, and curry leaves
When the raw smell is off, mix the chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder in some water and add it into the mixture
Add salt as required
When the masala begins to release its aroma, add the cubed potatoes along with some water
Cook the potatoes with the lid on
When the water gets reduced and the potatoes begin to get cooked, add the second extract of coconut milk and mix
Allow the gravy to boil well before adding the fish balls
Now cook the dish on simmer
When everything is cooked well, add the first extract of coconut milk
Mix well and take it off the flame
Sprinkle vinegar and serve hot.
