Easy palappam with no coconut paste

Easy palappam with no coconut paste

Soft palappam with its lacy edges is definitely one of the most popular breakfast dishes in Kerala. Here is an interesting recipe of palappam in which coconut paste isn't added. Besides, rice flour is used here instead of batter prepared with ground raw rice. Try out this palappam which is amazingly easy to prepare and tastes great as well.

Ingredients
2 cups rice flour
½ cup white flattened rice
½ tsp yeast
Salt as required
Sugar as required

Preparation
Pour water into the rice flour and mix into batter without any lumps
Soak the flattened rice in lukewarm water for 15 minutes
Grind the soaked flattened rice by adding yeast, sugar, and salt
In a mixer, blend the rice flour batter and the flattened rice mix
Allow this batter to ferment for at least 8 hours before making the palappam.
