Spicy and flavoursome kothu porotta is a popular street food that is loved by the porotta lovers in Kerala. Check out the fairly simple recipe of masala kothuporotta.

Ingredients
3 porotta
2 onions (finely chopped)
1 tomato (diced)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
½ capsicum or 2 green chillies
4 bunches curry leaves
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp black pepper powder
½ tsp garam masala
½ cup chicken curry gravy
2 -3 pieces of chicken from the curry (shred it and add it in the gravy; if you do not have chicken curry you could melt a few chicken stock cubes in ½ glass water and use it)
3 eggs
Salt as required
Oil as required

Preparation
Tear the porotta into small pieces and keep it aside
Heat oil in a wok and half sauté the onions
Add the ginger-garlic paste, capsicum, curry leaves, and tomato
Sauté until they are half cooked
Now add the chilli powder, black pepper powder and garam masala
Sauté until the raw smell of the powders is gone
Add salt as required and mix well
Into it add the porotta pieces
Mix well for 3-4 minutes on medium flame
Add the chicken gravy with the chicken pieces in it
Give everything a good mix
Cook for 4-5 minutes with the lid on
Tastes best when served hot.
